She was nominated for the Olivier but they'd have different rules regarding the percentage of the music used for a show and they conflate plays and musicals in that category, so that's also something to note.
Because if she's not eligible, Best Original Score looks to be:
The Band's Visit
Frozen
Mean Girls
Spongebob Squarepants
Not a big fan of Mean Girls getting a Tony nomination for its weakest component, and I wouldn't know how Spongebob's nomination would go about. I know they nominated "various artists" for Score before for Urban Cowboy, but that was a weak-ass year for new musicals outside of Hairspray. Although I'd love the eyes of whoever's reading out the nominees to just gloss over that long list of names for Spongebob. I did not envy Jenn Colella a few days ago."
I agree that the musical scores are weak this season, the glorious Band's Visit aside. I do think SpongeBob will get a nomination though, despite the annoyance of having to read the names. There are some great songs in there. Any chance that Farinelli and the King sneaks in? Is it eligible?
The Boys in the Band isn’t opening this season.
Farinelli did not use original music, but it’s eligible for orchestrations. (And honestly, it’s much better work than most of the orchestrations this season.)
I think Farinelli is only eligible for Orchestrations, not Score.
Always fun to revisit this thread the morning of the show! Kind of disappointed how everything was pretty accurate a year ago. The biggest surprises are probably the love for Spongebob and the lack of love for Frozen.

If only this had magically manifested, he would have run away with it this year.
