I can't imagine we've heard the end of this. Sadly.
If Babs is blaming UTA for Gypsy falling apart, I'd like to send UTA a big fruit basket.
Thank you for saving us from a monstrous vanity project, UTA. I shall look forward to seeing the Imelda Staunton version on PBS.
After all, let's face it. Who could they have gotten to play Mama Rose's father? Methuselah? LOL.

She will not end a one of a kind film career on The Guilt Trip. Not a chance.
I am confident an announcement is forthcoming that Columbia Pictures will green-light GYPSY with Streisand as its star and director. Gaga as Louise and Travolta as Herbie. OR NOT.
Please spare us the endless grandma jokes and the "voice is gone" diatribe. After 6 years, we get it.
A wrinkle… CAA represents all of the rumored cast/director for The Drowsy Chaperone. Schepsi, Rush, Hathaway, Jackman… dare I say it, Streisand will do both !!!!!

Keep dreaming, Claudia. They aren't lettin' that old bag within 1000 feet of Gypsy. The project is as dead as her raspy, limited voice.

As I mentioned before if Babs wanted to force the issue she could put up, say, 20 million dollars of her own money (5 percent of her net worth?) against possible losses for the studio and have the feature made. But I doubt she will.
Yes. Babs is known to be, um, thrifty, shall we say.

she agrees to Chaperone to get Gypsy
She would make Ethel's 1966 Granny Get Your Gun look like a spring chicken.

I could almost stomach Steisand as Rose ( almost) but what idiot thinks John Travolta would make a good Herbie? Was somebody high when they got that bright idea???
Honestly, I'd love to see Babs in Gypsy. She's had an amazing career and deserves to go out with a bang. Gypsy is the perfect fit and she could still sing the crap out of it. I'm all for her doing it.

I hope this happens. I need to see Babs play Rose. I don't care how old she is. She's Barbra Striesand
Exactly. She is a legend and I want to see one more Musical film with her. It would be a treat for all of America.
You guys are high. It would be awful. A terrible embarrassment for her and everyone involved, and a stain on the legacy of a great Broadway musical.

Why does it have to be Gypsy? I'm not sure how it's come down to remaking Gypsy or never being in a musical again. She could do something else.
As Judy is my witness, Barbra will make Gypsy.

Gypsy has been done to death and she is clearly too old for the part.
Would be perfect in SUNSET BOULEVARD, Sure wish she would do it.

I think I read somewhere that whatever movie studio owns the rights to the film of Sunset Blvd won't let the musical adaptation be filmed as movie. It was something like that

Sunset is perfect. out of touch, a once great performer, living in her own world. It paralles her life now. I am confident, that is the reason she routinely say she doesnt like the score and thinks the film version is great, when asked why.! "it has 2 songs, and Ive recorded them"

Not long. Maybe not Paramount, but definitely Murphy, who had an entire media cycle a week or so ago based on having dinner at Barbra's house with himself, Travolta, who arranged the get-together, and Gaga as the only invited guests.
Murphy, btw, is repped by CAA, the brand new agency Barbra just signed with.
She should do Sunset, updated in 2015. And instead of Salome, Norma wants to do... GYPSY!
