Because nothing helps chase away the Monday blues better than a dose of Merman.
Stumbled upon this gem while listening to tracks from her disco album. (Yes, I was seeking them out).
Ethel Merman sings "Tomorrow" on the Sesame Street Christmas Special in 1978.

It may be the first time anyone ever unintentionally relied on sense memory during "Little Girls":
"You don't wanna go to the zoo. You don't wanna ride the swings. What the **** do you want to do? LIIIITTTLEEE GIIIIRRLS!"

Ethel and Mary Martin do the historic 14-minute medley, part of the Ford 50th Anniversary show, broadcast simultaneously on all three networks.

The simple staging, set around two stools, was devised and kept purposely simple by Jerome Robbins.

So, do you think Miley Cyrus can play Ethel Merman? It sounds weird, but look at her next time she's on a talk show-her voice, her mannerism. I can just see her singing "Wherever we go, whatever we do...etc."
