The musical... I hard it was the same.
I had no interest in the show to begin with. But I watched the movie with an open mind and still didn't enjoy it.

Posted: 1/20/08 at 2:02pmI couldn't stand The Producers. But I actually quite like the cast album for this show....granted I haven't seen it live.

I actually really like the score and I'm looking forward to seeing it. My Aunt and Uncle went to see it and they both didn't like The Producers and my Aunt didn't like Young Frankenstein that much, but my Uncle liked it and had fun. I mean that's the real point of going to the theatre, to have fun and enjoy what's going on and not think too much and forget any problems or whatever's going on in the world for 2 hours.
My Aunt was telling me that after the show they went and stagedoored and when Andrea Martin came out apparently they and some others were reciting lines from My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Anyway, when Megan Mullally came out, she signed and everything and so my Uncle wanted a photo with her and she said she couldn't, and so they walked off and my Aunt turned around and saw that she was posing for photos with the people that were next to them.

Posted: 1/20/08 at 4:11pmIt could benefit from a solid 40 minutes of cuts. Then it would be fab.

part of the reason, i think, is because the producers was so OVERrated.
now, people are being very harsh on YF to make up for their blind eye towards the weaknessess of the prodcuers.
imo.
i actually liked young frankenstein.

I haven't seen the show, so I don't know if I'll like it or not, I'll let you know in April.
But, what never ceases to amaze me on this board, is how some people think that THEIR opinion is the standard by which everything should be measured !
I DIDN'T LIKE IT, SO IT'S BAD
or
I LOVED IT, SO IT'S GREAT
I'll never stop shouting it, ART IS SUBJECTIVE ! There is no book of rules for Good Art and Bad Art, it's not Algebra. One man's masterpiece can be another man's abomination ! Everyone is entitled to an opinion and no one should try to persuade him that his opinion is wrong !!! Wrong measured to what ?
There's no wrong or right here, only I liked... and I didn't like...
At least THAT'S MY OPINION

Posted: 1/20/08 at 4:52pmEven though I agree with you Greekmusicalfan, most people do understand when certain things are subjective, and when they are facts. I understand and agree with what you are saying, but when someone asks a subjective question like this, most people would recognize the responses as opinions. At least, I hope they do...

Posted: 1/20/08 at 4:53pmArt is subjective. YF isn't art, it's a steaming turd.

<< BAD THINGS
- The show was boring
- Not really funny
- Too much of a carbon copy of the film
- The score was a bore
- The choreography was uninteresting
- The direction was uninteresting
- The acting was alright (with two exceptions)
- The producers (the people, not the show) suck
- Didn't live up to the hype

Thank you Neddy for saving me the work !!
