Charlotte d'Amboise is BACK in Chicago!!!

yay.

Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie Hart
This triple threat is has played Roxie on and off for nearly ten years. She also recently made headlines when she stepped in for an injured Christina Applegate in the revival of Sweet Charity and will be seen this fall as Cassie in A Chorus Line.

There you go! For those of you who didn't know.

Also, there is a video with some of Charlotte in it on broadway.com Updated On: 4/19/06 at 07:10 PM

WILL SOMEBODY JUST WRITE HER A SHOW ALREADY?

I love her in Chicago. She's going to be amazing in A Chorus Line. But she needs a star vehicle... preferably one that doesn't suck.

She's the perfect candidate for a show like Chita Rivera's The
Dancer's Life

Let's write her a spin-off musical to Carrie called:

Chris - The Musical

Somehow Chris managed to escape the demonic hellish torture of the gym inferno and went on to ravage bible toting frumpy girls and their overprotective rosary bead carrying mothers. Her special power is being a bitch, wearing head to toe body suits and doing front walkovers.

I think that spells success don't you think?

God love Charlotte - she'll probably be the only person in history to go directly from playing Roxie Hart to Madame Armfeldt.

Yeah, if they weren't worried about getting an audience.

Haha you are right. A lot of people do not know who she is. I wouldn't if I didn't see her in Charity. Then I started to follow her career, and I think she is a very talented person.

Exactly. I'm not slagging D'Amboise's talents, but if Chita Rivera's show couldn't find an audience, there's no way a solo D'Amboise show would make any sense.

I forgot about the part that Chita's show kinda flopped.

You've got to love Charlotte d'Amboise. She is a trouper, but she's been around for years. She'll work all the time, she always has, but I don't think she'll ever be a "star." Broadway economics don't permit the sustenance for anyone to be a "Broadway star" anymore. Certainly not in the same way Mary Martin, Ethel Merman, John Raitt, Alfred Drake, Julie Andrews, Judy Holiday, Chita Rivera, etc. were stars.

A show like "A Dancer's Life" about D'Amboise would be a terrible flop, I'm afraid.

Charlotte could maybe sell out a one night only cabaret show in Chelsea though if she called CHARLOTTE D'AMBOISE SINGS "CARRIE" (and some other stuff too)

When I said a Dancer's life... I implied a one woman dancing show...not really about her career.

I would see Charlotte perform in anything.

Now, if we could team her up with Julia Murney, Alix Korey, Idina Menzel, Melissa Errico, Kelli O'Hara, Leah Hocking, and LaChanze I would be in absolute heaven!
