Old Article on Casting Ideas for "WICKED - The Movie Musical" — Page 2

An idea I have was to have 2 people play Glinda and 2 people Play Elphaba.

I had Kristin Chenoweth in mind for the Adult Glinda for Act 2 and for the beginning of Act 1 for NOMTW. Also someone young with talent to play young G(a)linda in Act 1 for the Shiz Scenes.

I also had Idina Menzel in mind for the Adult Elphaba for Act 2 and possibly for DG and someone young and talented for the Shiz Scenes.

Thats an idea that could probably work, and no-one would criticise (probably will). Understandable if anyone thinks it's a terrible idea but like I said, it's just an idea :)

I would love to see Katie Rowley Jones play Nessarose. I saw her a while ago in London and she was absolutely brilliant portraying her. I would also love to see Carole Shelley as Madame Morrible and Joel Grey as The Wizard or maybe Nigel Planer.

you'd be surprised what they could do with makeup. But since I'm not a huge fan of the OBC, I'm not totally for the original cast being cast in the movie version.

I actually had an epiphany about this last night. What if Disney got the rights to it and made a grand return to the animated Disney musical with WICKED! That way, they could use the original voices of Idina and Kristin and the flying effects and such would not be ridiculous at all but would actually be as magical as Aladdin on his carpet, the beast transforming, etc.

The score is catchy and friendly enough to be a PG production and I think Disney could work wonders with it and possibly re-ignite that whole genre. Little girls all over the world would be OBSESSED.

Well, to a mass-market, Disney store merchandise (stuffed animals, bedding, halloween costumes), a ride at Disney world, part of Disney parades, an animated tv show spin-off etc. It would just be HUGE
