Posted: 9/13/05 at 5:44pmSorry about changing the subject a little, but just wanted to confirm (again!) that Michael Ball does do stage door for Patience? A friend of mine says that nobody does stage door for the opera and I won't get a chance to see him. Glad to see that this doesn't seem to be the case. This is at Lincoln Center, right?

I have two older woman stagedoor stories.
The first one occured after a matinee of DRS. The woman kept asking everyone who was a man, not even a slight resemblance walking in if they were John Lithow. It was so annoying and rude for the actors..ugh!
The second occured at the last performance of "Who's Afriad...". They had put up barricades and I was in the front. This elderly woman pushes through, gives me one of those "i'm an old lady let me through" looks and then goes, when they come out can I use your pen. I of course said yes but she became more and more persistant about using my pen and asking every five minutes. Anyways, everything went fine until the four actors started coming out. Now, for myself, I feel its respectful to actors, unless you know them, to call them Mr. or Mrs. so-in-so. She started screaming everyone's name like "Bill, BILL, BILL!!!". I was like "holy crap this woman is intense". She did that with everyone...oy!

Posted: 9/13/05 at 9:17pmI'm almost positive I saw this woman at the stagedoor of The Pillowman. She had Billy Crudup sign like 500 things as well as Jeff Goldblum. She'd also ask every person going through the stage door if he/she was in the cast, it was insane. She then asked Billy if she could take a pic of him and he said he'd rather do it after, but she said that she, "uh...had to catch a train" So while she was changing the film in her polaroid, I took a pic with him, buhaha. Wonder if this was the same woman.

If anyone who thinks they've seen her, she is seen in the Broadway.com Video about Tony predictions/wants from this past June! Well, the woman i THINK you guys are talking about!

Holy crap - the thread about this woman has more posts than the Debra Monk thread.
Think about that.

Posted: 9/14/05 at 9:36amCarnimiriel...to answer your question...yes, Michael does do the stage door at Patience (at least he did last weekend lol!). It's the NYC Opera in the Lincoln Center complex. If you go I'm sure you can catch him before or after one of the upcoming performances.

Posted: 9/14/05 at 11:16amLori, thanks for answering my question. Don't mean to be a bother, but could you tell me where the stage door is for NYCO? Or do they come through the lobby?

If you are facing Lincoln Center Plaza with the City Opera on your left (standing on 9th Ave) the stage door is on the 9th Ave. side, down near the corner of 9th and 62nd St.. You have to go down a set of stairs but it says "Stage Door" above the stairs. If you happen to be seeing the show on the 15th, 17th, 30th, 1st or 5th just look for the crowd...there are people coming in from all over the country and from the UK on those dates to see the show.
Hope that helps!

Posted: 9/14/05 at 2:39pmThese people are such losers... they are like 60 years old and all they do are stand at stagedoors. This one guy with a cane I call him the Joe Mantello Stalker tried to sneak into Glen Garry about 10 times.. he used to bother Joe all the time to sign various posters... One lady snuck into the opening night party after harrassing people outside for extra tickets..she is short, over weight with Frizzy hair and just pathetic if you ask me.. She is everywhere.. at every event trying to make her way in for free and then bother the actors after to sign 100 different playbills. Totally sad.

Posted: 9/14/05 at 7:35pmwhen i saw les miserables there was some old woman strangley obsessing over christiana anbri and kristin klabunde (the two girls that were in it that night) like hugging them saying how cute they were asking how old they were how tall they were, email address, and all this in depth and wierd info. i was just like "you were amazing" and she had them like sign her shirt which was like a floral shirt and her playbill and cap and program and it was just a tad over obsessive, in fact i recall her asking what agent they had, were they in equity...its kind of disturbing!
