The live recording of 'Oliver!' is to be released on March 16th by ADA/UK. *That little cake shop on Monmouth Street is going to be taking advance orders!
MamasDoin'Fine, I saw Tamsin in the 2002 production (considering I run a TC website), so I've already had a copy on my computer for years of that link. I was just curious in terms of the official CD whether or not her version would be a bonus, etc.
I think we're gonna have to wait for an announcement from the producers before we know tracklisting and the like. At the moment all we really know is that it has been recorded and the release date.
Yep I am laughing that we've gotten reports that they recorded it and they're going to be releasing it from March, but no official press release yet from the producers.
Hey Mr Producer!! How I have fond memories of long summer afternoons with this video on repeat. When I was younger, I would always skip through the boring bits (aka Day by Day, I Love a Lassie, Is You Or Is..., How Many Tears? and pretty much the whole Side by Side section). Only when I pulled the VHS from the cupboard maybe last year or the year before I decided to watch the whole thing. I never knew I'd been missing Ruthie Henshall, Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga doing Gotta Get a Gimmick - a song I was obsessed with for about 6 months.
OMG! Her Somewhere That's Green and Suddenly Seymour (with the random guy I've never heard of as Seymor) are DIVINE!! Funny story - until I discovered Little Shop, I always thought that the segue from One Two Three to Little Shop was how the actual song went. To the mind of a seven year old, it made sense that a man singing about jesters in castles would segue into a song about small purveyor of frights.
Oh and the triple anagram (is that what those three letter contractions are called) of DVD, HMV and VLM got me lost. I understand the DVD and the HMV, but VLM? Very Limited Money? Were you saying the DVD is in HMV for very limited money?? I'm tres confused!!
:) I love her. She is mindblowingly beautiful!!! However, who the hell is that guy?
Do you think there'll ever be an updated version of Hey Mr Producer? I was hoping for a "10 Years On" version last year, but obviously no one else had the same brainwave.
Oh what I wouldn't give to have seen her in the original run.
I'm just going to have to make do imagining her performance when listening to the cast album (and the atrocious synthesized film soundtrack) and these clips on YouTube.
