Im just searching out the flier i have of her for the London production.
I remember the night of the first preview and i hadnt heard anything about this new show at the Comedy and I asked a friend to come with me to see it. We wenrt fussed at all BUT boy did we get a shock! I saw it about 20 times in its 18 month run.

Oh, how the world of musical theatre changed with the little show that could!! From this was born the Disney renaissance and the careers of Ellen Greene and Lee Wilkoff.
Shall be grabbing the DVD from HMV in London (where in London is there an HMV) next weekend!!

The VHS cover was slightly different. Has there ever been a better collection of talent on the one stage before or since this amazing event?

Ah the spoons! Why oh why didn't Matthew Bourne put that into the 2001 Revival?
By now you'd be up to Jonathan Pryce, or Julie Andrews?

JP
Jez i was at the open dress for this in the afternoon. It was amazing and if i may say had a little more atmosphere than what the evening performance seems to have on DVD. The dress went straight thru - no stops. Wondrous!
I wasnt going to pay £100 - £ 250 if it was today!

Ellen Grenne yet??
Who ever is the guy playing Seymour?? He just doesn't do it for me. It's definitely not Lee Wilkoff or Rick Moranis.

Broadway Baby!! Gotta love that song. Oh and btw, I've finally found a Sondheim I love - Follies. I bought the Ted Chapin rehearsals diary book thing from Dress Circle, as well as the 1985 concert album and I'm officially in love with the show!!!
Enjoy Hey Mr Producer, I'm going to bed now ... while listening to Carol Burnett's I'm Still Here :)

Now that just ruined my day (so far). I'm just going to live with memories of seeing her three times (twice from front row, centre) at the Lyric in Sydney until I can somehow get up to London on a Wednesday or Thursday evening, something that's not going to happen for a while

It hasn't been done before from what I remember so I wasn't surprised really. I'm trying to think of a show CD i have here that did give the alternative a track on the album??? Then again this alternative thing is pretty newish. There are some I'm sure.
