I should get the OLC I guess.
I prefer the Movie Soundtrack to the OBC.
I love the 1994 London version. It was the first good show I had ever seen (Peter Pan at the Paper Mill Playhouse and Beauty and the Beast came before it).
The Nancy everyone forgets is Sally Dexter; she is and was absolutely breathtaking! I can still remember her soft start to As Long As He Needs Me and her buildup to that glorious tough and low voiced, thrilling finish.
But, I do understand why purists like Georgia Brown's Nancy. She has a rich and ruff texture that works very well.
I like the Palladium recording the best. I like the new orchestrations and am a sucker for Jonathan Pryce so I have no problem with the logo being of Fagin. I've never seen the Jew caricatures so I can't compare them... it was an interesting concept. personally, for me, it reminds me of one of Pizza Hut logos...
HeartandMusic I so agree with the Stratford Production, it was splendid!!! I just went to Stratford last weekend and saw it. I love all the numbers in the show, there isn't one that sticks out as a "bad" number. But I do love Fagin's "Reviewing the Situation" and "Pick a Pocket or two".
