As far as being nice to newcomers goes...when I first started posting no one was ever mean to me, but then again I also didn't say anything to cause trouble straight away. So its doubtful that it is a "newcomer" issue.

I think most of us here are quite nice to newcomers. The only one's I am suspicious of are the ones who suddenly appear (like LouW)that seem to have an agenda for self promotion. Lou may have been legit, but my radar went up, too, when I finally found his posts.

I'm going to start a record label, named after my friends Al Dente, LouW and myself. I'm going to call it AlMeLou, and in honor of the passing of Donald O'Connor, I'm going to bring back Birdie out of retirement and record his comeback cd.

Lou, wherever you are, this one's for you, buddy. (And you too, Al.) Birdie's single will be called "One Last Post." It'll go:
