Come on guys, Life is a Cabaret! Therefore Cabaret should run forever . . . or at least be running.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is a good choice but I have to say the longest running Broadway show should be OLDEST LIVING CONFEDERATE WIDOW TELLS ALL.

Sweeney Todd.

OLDEST LIVING CONFEDERATE WIDOW TELLS ALL is a much better show than SWEENY TODD. With OLDEST LIVING . . you get opening night and closing night in the same night! What other show can do that!

Taboo. I could see it every night and never be satisfied.
and RENT because every time I see it, I get something new out of it. Great message that people can relate to.
Cabaret still gets a nod too!

FOLLIES. The original production, for all its lushness, both visually and musically, not to mention a script that says something about not only life in the theatre, but life outside of it as well. IMHO, it was one of those rare moments where Broadway actually realized its potential.

Wicked all the way!
And I totally agree with Elphaba the Good! Wicked is timeless, and some jokes in Hairspray and The Producers will not be gotten by people watching them in like 10 years, never mind "til the end of time".

How about a family show, like the Lion King because:
When kids grow up they will take their kids to see it, then their kids, and so on....
Although I choose Phantom of the Opera...a beautiful love story.

I also think PHANTOM is a beautful show but we have to face the fact that BOBBIE BOLAND is going to out run PHANTOM.

I agree with star wars the musical. Or even Star trek the musical if someday is made.
Matrix the musical and schindler's list a new musical could be two good choices. if ever made!
(if not, a chorus line, could be Ok.)

1776. I think it's an incredibly well-written, funny, entertaining show.
Forbidden Broadway and Chicago would be other possibilities. Or Godspell.

Sorry Sammygal, I guess you know J and you got the joke -I should've realized that he really knew what Bobbi Boland was and that this was a joke to the community...silly me...after all, everyone that answers threads do know their theatre...Like knowing the difference between a Soundtrack and a Cast Recording.
