Just came across a promo video clip for the national tour of Camelot on the Broadway Across America Website. I wish the voice over didn't obscure the vocals so much (and I wish the clip were longer than 1:30), but Rachel York and James Barbour sound great. Michael York was also better than I expected.
I'll be seeing it this weekend. Stay tuned!

Here's another video clip of the touring Camelot. It's primarily a TV interview with Michael York, but it includes some segments of songs by the three leads that are longer than those on the Broadway Across America promo clip.

Posted: 3/7/07 at 12:13pmWonderful interview with York. This man is, in my opinion, one of the great, unsung actors of our time. OK so Howard Keel he ain't, so WHAT, does the role really require a glorious singing voice? There is no doubt in my mind that York can act the hell out of Arthur and to me, that is the final word; i can't wait to see him when the show hits minneapolis!

MKJ,
Here's a Camelot Tour review thread you might enjoy reading. I found Michael York's casting/performance troublesome, but others have liked him. He was a pleasure to meet at the stage door, however, and the audiences have been very enthusiastic.
Please do post your review after you've seen the show. Thanks!

jp,
If you are clicking the first clip link I posted, you'll see a menu to the right asking for your video preferences. Scroll down till you get to Camelot and launch that.
There's also a second link further down in the thread that leads to the Michael York interview, complete with show footage.

Posted: 3/9/07 at 7:43pmRachel York sounds wonderful! I feel a bit sorry for Michael though. He is a wonderful actor, but he is far too old for the part and his vocals are weak.
