"Underneath the Lintel" by Glen Berger is a beautiful one. "Satchmo at the Waldorf" by Terry Teachout, about Louis Armstrong. "The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey" by James Lecesne. Anna Deavere Smith's solo plays, including "Notes from the Field" and "Let Me Down Easy," are all great and include both male and female characters, so they could be performed by a gifted actor of any gender or race.
