Waitress is a collossal bore. Jessie Mueller can't save it.  The theatre smells like (pies) good and (turkey) not so good.  So here's another vote for Color Purple.

With the possible exception of Hamilton, the answer to the question "{fill in the name of the currently running musical} or The Color Purple" is invariably The Color Purple.

Personally I would go see The Color Purple over Hamilton..LOL..but that's me.

I enjoyed many elements of Waitress and if you can squeeze in both, go for it..but Color Purple is just breathtaking.

I really enjoyed both, but The Color Purple wins by a LONG shot here. No competition or questions.
