Well, after booking all the 14 shows I had on my list, I have one slot open for a Tuesday ! Knowing me, I don't think I'll stay away from another show, but which ? Most people I love and trust, spoke very warmly about ITH, but I also keep hearing fantastic things about August OC, too. I know they are completely different and it's a musical against a play, but which one in your opinion will make a more memorable experience for me ? And most importantly, which is more understandable for a very fluent, but not born, English speaker, like me ?
In the Heights is good, but August: Osage County is a masterpiece.
Go with August.

I've heard some outstanding things on August, but if you just want a very enjoyable show thats light, go with ITH. They are both very different shows, so it's your choice. I personally loved In The Heights, but thats just me.
14 shows. Holy ****.
AUGUST is a must see. I've already seen it 3 times and it wasn't anything less than amazing all 3 times.
However, I would want to see ITH too. I loved ITH..but if it's just between these two, then it's AUGUST.
I can't believe that out of the first 14 shows you plan on seeing, neither ITH or A:OC is on that list! If I didn't live in NYC, these would absolutely be the first two I would see upon visiting!
No matter which you pick, you will have a fulfilling experience.
if i had a choice, i would def. see IN THE HEIGHTS! it is my favorite show of all time! i have heard many great things about August. It is a tough choice. ITH will probably outlast August on Broadway but you never know.
As much as I enjoyed IN THE HEIGHTS, AUGUST is a must see! Best thing on Broadway in years.
Don't miss it!
You will REGRET not seeing AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. Why wasn't this the FIRST choice in your 15 shows that you're seeing???
no competition...August: Osage County!
August is a sure classic- the closest we have had in this past generation,
but In the Heights heck of a lot of fun, and a showcase of some great young talent!
In The Heights
Having not seen either, I would choose AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. Simply based on the acclaim it has received (both here and critically) it sounds like a must-see.
The vote looks unanimous !!! By the way, what are the best seats to enjoy August ? There are plenty available on Telecharge and the best one is FIRST Row, center !!!! But is it advisable for this show ? I saw Boy from Oz from that same row and I remember that the stage wasn't very elevated and the view was great ! But what about this one ? I think I've read that the set is huge and is better appreciated from a distance, but I could be wrong !

Try to get front mezzanine if you can.
My two cents...
Even though I love IN THE HEIGHTS...
I second LePetiteFromage- GO SEE A PLAY! there's too much musicals in your list.. It will balance it out and most likely August : Osage County will win the TONYS for Best New Play..You will understand it... English is my second lannguage too.. Its not hard to understand. Frogs_fans85 is right... get a mezz.. the sets is very high.

The problem with the front row at August, is that, there is a pivotal scene in Act 2 where the cast will have its back to you, and you won't be able to see what is going on.
This show is best viewed from the front mezzanine.
I was never a big fan of the mezz, I don't know why, no particular reason, I just felt awsay from the action ! And I am really surprised there are NO discount codes for Orchestra seats !
Anyone has any ?
Adam, if the have their back on me, won't they have it to the whole theater, too ?
Panos,
The Mezzanine at the Music Box is not very far...The theater is small and very intimate.
The sets are VERY BIG .. Its a lifesize HOUSE ( is that correct english? lol)
You need to sit in the front MEZZ to see it best. When I saw it at the Imperial Theater..we sat at the REAR MEZZ and everything is perfect...and the Imperial is a big theater.
Trust these guys.. they know what they are talking!

Yes, but when you're looking down on it, you can see everything that is happening. The scene I am talking about is a lengthy dinner scene. You'll miss a lot of priceless reactions because you won't be able to see the other side of the table.
There is only the one discount for the Music Box run because, to be honest, they won't really need one when they move to a smaller house, especially after they win the Tony and the Pulitzer.

I sat in the front row center orchestra for AUGUST and it was PERFECTION.
Take those if they're available.
Panos,
This is the set. Its a house...a lifesize model....3 levels...if you are sitting at the ORCH front..you will be looking up...
Oh maybe not. The set is far push back.

Have you considered the option of taking a break and doing something OTHER than a show? Like, oh, I don't know...a MUSEUM?
