Mister Matt - It has been rumored that Hollywood was on the outs with Spielberg at the time and the movie got shut out the way it did because of that.

Ummmm, sorry folks, but I have to disagree wholeheartedly. Oprah has to be one of the most mediocre actresses out there. In every performance she gives, I never see a fully developed, authentic, credible character; I see Oprah Winfrey trying to act. And that includes Sofia in TCP and Sethe in Beloved.

As for the show, I've said it before and I'll say it again: I hope they've made wholesale changes (like maybe a complete and utter reconception) to the show since I saw it here in Atlanta. Otherwise...

What I saw here was really not ready for prime time.
