I was having a conversation with a friend of mine, and we were trying to figure out where/when/why the 8 show week came about? Does anyone here have any thoughts??

Barbra Streisand would ALSO love to know.

She asked this same question when she was on INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO several years ago.

This 8-performances-a-week schedule is what has kept her from ever returning to the Broadway stage. She HATES that performance schedule. She'd love to do a few performances a week.

I guess she also expects people to pay 300 bucks for rear balcony and 4,000 dollars for premium seating to see her.
