Barbra Streisand would ALSO love to know.
She asked this same question when she was on INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO several years ago.
This 8-performances-a-week schedule is what has kept her from ever returning to the Broadway stage. She HATES that performance schedule. She'd love to do a few performances a week.
