Original Broadway INTO THE WOODS - Body Microphones?

Can anyone on here confirm the use of body microphones in the original production of Into the Woods? I have always wondered if they were used or not considering the nature of the show. 

Additionally, in the PBS broadcast of the original production, there is a moment where Bernadette Peters goes out onto the box seat of the Martin Beck Theatre (now Al Hirschfeld). Can anyone confirm that particular moment of the Witch in the audience box seat was something that happened for all performances or was it added for the PBS taping? Thank you.
