That's right the Off Broadway play Our Town has been extended into the New Year. It's currently booking until January 31, 2010.

A move would completely ruin the intimacy and magic of the staging. I'm delighted it's staying exactly where it is.

I'm happy it's staying put, and (i'd assume) not moving to Broadway.

Agreed. I'm sad its not transferring, if only because I'd love to see it get more exposure. But I'm glad it's having such a great run where it is. It's a knockout production.

I'd say that the exposure it's getting at the Barrow Street is just as good, if not better, than being on Broadway, where the intimacy would be lost, the bacon smell not as prevalent, etc.

With this and RUINED as cases-in-point, you don't need to be on Broadway to be successful.

But RUINED really could work on Broadway, and I didn't like the production design of RUINED, so I was hoping it would transfer and get changed up a bit. But oh well. It was still an okay piece, I wasn't so into it though. I knew instantly after watching August why it got the Pulitzer, but RUINED left me a little puzzled. Still, anyways, I agree about OUR TOWN. I'm going to have to go see it again. And it's always surprising to see ad campaigns for off-Broadway shows. I mean, they have their poster all over buses, so yeah, they're def getting exposed.
