Okay this may be a stupid question, but I know in a lot of Kander and Ebb tribute concerts, Not A Day Goes By is sung quite often, yet everyone here is saying it's from Merrily, a Sondheim show...are these two different songs?

I'll Cover You -- Rent
So In Love -- Kiss Me Kate
In His Eyes -- J&H (I LOVE THAT SONG!)
Til There Was You -- The Music Man
On My Own -- Les Mis
If I Can't Love Her -- Beauty & the Beast
Almost A Love Song -- Victor/Victoria
I Got Lost in His Arms -- Annie Get Your Gun

there are SO many to pick from; I'll narrow it down to four, many
of which WickedRentEder above me has said.

1. So In Love - Kiss Me, Kate (which I'm in now, actually, as Fred)
2. I'll Cover You - Rent
3. On My Own - Les Miserables
4. Forever Yours - Once On This Island

1) "One Hand, One Heart" from WSS
2)"Unusual Way" form Nine
3)"I'll Cover You" from RENT

Here's a sentence I never thought I'd hear myself say. I'm with Deborah Gibson, On My Own is my favorite Broadway love song.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

I am a softie for "If ever I would leave you"
but #s 2 & 3 would be "On My Own" and "A Little Drop of Rain"
I was also on the floor with the "On the Street Where You Live"
as a valentine to stalkers everywhere line!
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

I Have a Love- from WSS...can't help it. Love it.
The key to the mystery of a great artist is that for reasons unknown, he will give away his energies and his life just to make sure that one note follows another... and leaves us with the feeling that something is right in the world. ~Leonard Bernstein~

I think all of mine have been covered either in article or on this board.

I love the classic romantic songs like "Some Enchanted Evening", "If I Loved You", "If Ever I Would Leave You", "As Long as He Needs Me", and "Til' There was You".

I think one of the most romantic (and tragic) stories in musical theatre is that of Archie and Lily in The Secret Garden. The entire sequence of "Where in the World" where Archie contemplates suicide because he feels he can't live without Lily, to her calming response in "How Could I Ever Know", which culminates in an emotional duet is beautiful. It gets me EVERY time!
"You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays. I don't know about you, but I'd like to make today worth remembering." --Harold Hill from The Music Man

Jumping in.
1. Inside your heart-Batboy. I was surprised no one added this last year...
2. Someone like you-Jekyll and Hyde. Ok so it's more about unreqited love but still it one of my favorite songs.
3.Role of a lifetime-Bare. Not a "really" a love song I guess but I think it's filled with so much emotion with fighting his sexual feelings and his love for Jason. Gives me chills everytime
4.Where's the girl-Ok so I just like Chauvlin...granted I love Percy too but...but...Margurite could have both!

And of coarse I second both On my own and I'll cover you. Both of which are dear to my heart.
Ev'ry so often we long to steal to the land of what might have been but that dos'nt soften the ache we feel when reality sets back in.

"I Could Write a Book" from When Harry Met Sally... is just perfection, in my opinion, even if it isn't from a musical.
"At Last" is sheer beauty, as well.
Also:
"The Next Ten Minutes" The Last Five Years
"If I Can't Love Her" Beauty and the Beast
"A Little Fall of Rain" Les Miserables
"Sue Me" Guys and Dolls
"Rosie" Bye Bye Birdie
"All I Ask of You" Phantom of the Opera
"As Long As You're Mine" Wicked
"I'll Cover You" and "I'll Cover You (Reprise)" Rent
"Without You" Rent
"It's not for sissies, contrary to popular belief." - Tommy Tune, on musical theatre.

My top three:
"Move On" Sunday in the Park with George
"Where's the Girl?" and "When I Look at You" Scarlet Pimpernel
and of course there's
"If I Loved You" Carousel
"Not While I'm Around" Sweeney Todd
"The Next Ten Minutes" The Last Five Years
"On My Own" Les Miserables
"All I Ask of You" Phantom of the Opera
"As Long As You're Mine" Wicked
and the feeling
and the light
moving on.

"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
