According to this website, a revivial of "Over Here!" is being mounted next year featuring Cody Linley and, possibly Dick Van Dyke. Van Dyke's partner, Michele Triola, passed away a few weeks ago, so his involvement isn't confirmed. http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/11/cody-linley-broadway-bound

They have a website up, http://www.overherela.com/blog/about/, and it looks like the show will start in LA before coming to New York. Donna McKechnie and Pam Myers are both listed among the cast members.

Has anyone heard anymore about this? I think the best moment I've ever had in a theater was seeeing Dick Van Dyke sing "Put On A Happy Face" to Chita Rivera in "Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life." I hope this is true!

This is bizarre to say the least.

Bizarre, but strangely wonderful. I mean, I wouldn't say no to having Dick Van Dyke, Donna McKechnie, and Pam Myers on one stage...

There was talk of a London production of Over Here with Donna McKechnie a couple of years ago.

If you search about on the West End board you may find mention of it.

Yes and that production was also rumored to play Toronto in the summer of 2007 - and then nothing ever happened. Donna McKechnie was attached to it then as well.

I love the score but the whole reason for the show was to be a vehicle for the two surviving Andrews Sisters. There's not really much plot to carry it, but a dance heavy show so if the choreography is good that could help compensate.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

According to the Over Here! LA website, Dick will play the Spokesman, Donna will play Paulette, and Pam Myers will play Pauline. If you click on the cast list on the website, it says who is playing which role.

I remember hearing about the West End revivial will McKechnie that never materalized. I hope this one does in a New York production!

Having seen the original, I can says it was a fun show. The score was big & brassy & had a great overture.

I remember the Andrews sisters, Janie Sell (what happened to her),John Travolta singing Dream Drummin & Marilu Henner

This would not play the same as doubt there would be the same audience there was for it back than. Many who remembered the sisters have since died & I do not know how the whole nostalgia thing would play now

Have a recording of Victory Canteen which morphed into Over Here. It is a good entertaining show but by no means a great show.I wish all involved good luck.

Yes it isn't a great show but it is a hell of alot of fun=] I saw a high school production of it last year and was extremely skeptical of it on the way in but fell in love with the score and the nostalgia it invoked. I was thouroughly impressed. It was a wonderful production.

Glad to hear it may come back to Broadway.

Tony Stevens was tapped as choreographer, if not dir/chor, from the beginning.
