Scene: A very large party of kids, age roughly 12-16, and several adult chaperones, slowly trickling out of a performance of Addams Family.
Kid (to adult male): Did you like it?
Adult male (thoughtfully): No... the comedy wasn't funny. (pause) And the music wasn't very interesting... or memorable. (pause) The show we saw last year was better.
Kid: Shrek?
Adult male: Mm-hmm...

My point... I hadn't expected to be called on the rug for that, honestly.
I just like to listen to what Mittelamerika has to say at the theatre, I suppose. It's always so much simpler than the banging away the rest of us do at the topic.

Adult male (thoughtfully): Yes... He seems to be very concerned what other people think of the show. (pause) I wonder why he cares? (pause) Do you think he might be one of the producers?
Kid: Producers of THIS show? The Addams Family?
Adult male: Mm-hmm...
Kid: No. They are the ones with huge smiles on their faces.
Adult male: Right. I just wish he'd stop eavesdropping on us. Plus I hate his shirt.

Cute. Too many folks have had a bad week.
I was interested to hear that these two liked Shrek but didn't like Addams, which are (to me) two equally poorly-wrought mediocrities (although poorly-wrought in different ways).

Why Mittleamerika? Any theater-going patron with any senstivity
or a brain in their head would recognize The Addams Family for the worthless, disposable junk that it is.
