Ehh I agree with everyone on munk's list except kristin. I don't think she's overrated at all. She deserves every bit of the hype she gets. Opera training is hard work. She has a great range. She belts, she riffs, she does runs and anything that's thrown at her. She sings country, gospel, show tunes, and Opera. And people... lemme tell ya comedy is the hardest thing to do. I think everyone says "ohh kristin was just being herself" but it's not totally true. If you look at the script and then look at the print Kristin put on that show you'll realize just how much Krisin made it seem like her. THAT my friends is the mark of a true artist. Everyone else on Munk's list is generally a one trick pony. Ask any real female singer who's heard or seen Kristin perform, they'll tell ya how freakin hard it is to do what she does. So I think she isn't overrated, she gets the praise she trully deserves. Vote Kristin for class president... ;O)

Yeah I think she's hoping the same thing. Something different from Wicked and Charlie Brown. That's the general problem with show business. Look at Kristin, Billy Porter and many other people. Producers say "ohhhhh you did THAT, well I have a part for you that you'd be PERFECT for." I think most artists can do many things, with the exception of the people on your list, but they don't get the chance. PRoducers nowdays want what sells. If Kristin won a tony for being cute, it's a sure thing. If Billy Porter plays these black screaming guys and people love it, give em more. Character actors really get the best things (unless you're Audra). The nature of a character actor is you get to play soo many different sides of things. I really hope to see Kristin do some dramatic roles.

Brooke Shields. Her weak voice and Donna Murphy impression didn't impress me one bit. Was her attendance record supposed to?

I agree with everyone on your list as well, Munk, except Kristin. I understand where you're coming from- she has done a lot of similar roles. However, it's obvious that her talents are diverse- judging from her recorded work alone. And in the realm of screamers, she is so genuinely talented in every area...
And none of the Wicked girls obsess over her the way they obsess over Idina... I don't think she's THAT overrated...

Ummmm...Sutton Foster and Drew Lachey. Now I can't say much about Sutton, but as me and my friend said, Drew is really cute, and should play someone who is supposed to be focused on cute. I was almost thinking Fiyero, but then stopped myself. Anyhoo, Mark was just not his part.

Hugh Jackman was also in Oklahoma! he wasn't very good though. I do think he's overrated, but maybe that's cause I don't like him. I don't know why, but I'm easily irked by Hollywood celebrities coming to Broadway. It just really pisses me off. They don't NEED the job, they have millions of dollars already. broadway stars do need these jobs, and I feel as if untalented (in most cases), undeserving, spoiled people are taking the whole thing away from deserving, hard working actresses. Sorry, I've wanted to vent that for a long time. So yes, according to the above, Hugh Jackman is highly overrated.

Last time I checked, hannahshule, Broadway wasn't a form of welfare. Or would you rather give a role to a nice, hard-working chorus girl instead of, say, Bernadette Peters because Peters makes too much?

All she needs to do is take a part in Wicked or Rent and you'll never stop hearing about her. Ever. :)

I agree, I don't find Susan to be overrated at all...if anything, she's underrated.

I'll go with the obvious and say Idina Menzel. While I enjoy her work and respect her, I don't understand the overhype...
