I really enjoyed it. I laughed so, so hard in that show. Harder than I have in most shows. It was also very deep and thought provoking.

"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife

Not here, but it's been recommended as one of the best musicals to open this season, and got great reviews.

Listen, I don't take my clothes off for anyone, even if it is "artistic". - JANICE

It's quite unconventional with funk/jazz/soul music which is not something you see in a Broadway musical very often. About a young artist who goes on a search for what's "real", finds weed and sex in Amsterdam, Marx and anti-establishmentarianism in Berlin. But what he finally finds as "the real" is a real let down. The book has some deeply poetic moments in it but ultimately I left unfulfilled. It had a lot of potential..I hope they've fixed things.

I didn't see it, but a friend of mine--whose opinion I completely trust and who is often very hard to please--saw it four times at the Public. That's enough of an endorsement for me.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body
