Listening quickly to ‘some people’ it’s as if she could play Rose today and still impress with her vocals. Maybe there is an ever so subtle slight hint of aging - but it’s barely noticeable - Patti has remained remarkably lucky because by this age practically all of the famous divas have had degraded voices.

I think Patti could still have a big Broadway leading role in her.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Listened to the entire album and her exaggerated Patti-isms are hilarious. She sounds like those Patti LuPone impersonators. They truly are spot on.

I caught Patti at her recent London "life in notes" concert. The sold-out audience went absolutely wild for her at her entrance and after many of her big songs, which was really fun. Her voice sounded even better live than it did on this recording - her belt is really very, very strong still and has almost no signs of vocal degradation. In fact, the only odd thing I noticed about her voice is that it's actually when she tries to sings quietly that her voice sounds strangely thin and lacking a bit of volume these days. But otherwise Patti is like a constant who you can always count on, I can't believe she is 75 and I don't think I am going to be ok to watch what happens over the next 5-10 years if time catches up with her.

It was kind of cool after she sat during the whole "Ladies Who Lunch" in the recent revival to see her stand and belt the song out to the whole theatre.

I would have preferred if she stuck with theatre music but I was moved by her performance of "Lilac Wine" and "The Man Who Got Away".

Can they just revive the revival of "Hello, Dolly" and put Patti LuPone in it already? Hard to believe we're coming up on 8 years since that first opened.
