Saw her leaving the Marquis on Sunday and as she was leaving I asked her if she might be stepping into the show - she said she might be taking over for Kathy Fitzgerald for a few weeks - WHAT DO WE THINK?

Are you sure it wasn't a joke?? Since when does adding seven sticks of butter to every recipe qualify you to be on Broadway...

She said that her and Dolly are close and she would love to bring her fans to Broadway theatres, I think it would be a really cool thing, Did anyone else see her at the show? The crowd went wild for her
If Paula Deen makes it to Broadway it will be the first sign of the Apocalypse.
Did anybody see David Hyde Pierce guesting on her Food Network show? Paula on "Frasier" - "Yes, yes, it's a wonderful show, we can alllll relate to it."
Can you picture her watching "Frasier?" I can't.

Ah, well I guess her heart's in the right place. If it happens, it'll be interesting for sure.

I think the show might need a big star to bring in some advance
^ That's true. I am really fond of Alison Janney and she alone has not been enough to entice me to the Marquis Theatre...yet.

I don't think they have the time, being that they probably won't win any Tonys - It would actual be a major favor if Paula came into the show, she'd bring in tons of people. She could fill houses
They do fill the house. They brought in 90% this last week w/out the comps.
^ If that house were to go ablaze with no survivors the national IQ average would move a few decimal places.

They only have about 2 million in advance, that is not very good whatsoever
And they would too. Their stomaches are full of Fat, butter, cooking oil! They are ticking time bombs!

First of all, where are you pulling these numbers from, your ass?
Secondly, any advance at all is good news. There are plenty of shows right now that are running week to week without any advance whatsoever.
Also, two million is a fairly substantial number, at least four weeks of running costs.
^ Stranger things have happened, and Paula Deen is doubtless in America's Top 10 Self-Promoters, if indeed such a list was compiled. Any cash grab, she'll beat you there. I'm sorry, I just don't find the woman charming at all. Y'all! It's kind of hard to like someone, at least for me, when they sink their teeth into a $250,000 dessert, to say nothing of the fact that she could easily get to Broadway even though she is royally unqualified.

Paula Deen is the first "Paula" to pop up on Google. Is that saying something?
Do you think they'd work in a way for her character to cook onstage?
I love Paula Deen. I'd so go see her play Roz not because I think she'd be good but because I am obsessed with her ... but something tells me this is either a big fat lie or never going to happen.
^ I prefer it to Abdul, but I would prefer Poundstone to either of the aforementioned.
