This is a pretty silly thread. Also, it was already mentioned in the Nicole Parker thread. Simple mistake that many people make. I'm sure she knows the difference between 'your' and 'you're'. It's funny how readily people will poke fun at someone's grammar before noting the nicety of Marcie's note. I really don't think her spelling mistake is a very big deal, people do it all the time. Sometimes, when I'm writing quickly, I often go back and realize I did it myself.
Also, I've decided that from now on, Foster, every time you make a spelling or grammar mistake, I am going to make a separate thread about it. With a link and everything.

Ahaaaha, I see what went on here with the cover-up.
I suppose that the revised header was supposed to be mundanely camouflaged into an uninteresting topic that as few people would see as possible. Except for people such as myself who, when bored, will click to hear all about the replacement Phantom ensemble. Very clever indeed

Nice one, Foster. What's the opposite of shameless? Because that's what what you did is. Would it be shameful? That makes sense.
Wanna Be, what you did was totally shameful.

Posted: 1/24/09 at 11:42amActually, I alerted Foster to the mistake which prompted this thread. The mistake is actually not acceptable, it's embarrassing. We're supposedly a superpower nation....and we can't even write a grammatically correct sentence? Sheesh.

Princeton78, you do realize that if we are as strong a superpower as you suggest we are then we would have the best college educatin in the world, right?
It's one of the most common typos to appear. I honestly have trouble believing that you yourself never made that mistake.

What I don't particularly follow is that the typographical error was pointed out in the thread it was relevant to. Why would you start up a new topic to lambaste a performer who was doing something thoughtful for the actress following her up? And why would one poster indicate to another that this error was made so they could spawn a thread dedicated to it?
I'd be really intrigued to see the original post, maybe I would understand it then or something.

Posted: 1/25/09 at 11:59amPiraguaGuy, they need to but they won't. A mistake is a mistake but others simply can't let it go. I have no idea why. It's not THAT annoying.

Actually, it IS annoying to many readers. However...I don't see the value in pointing it out each and every time since MOST of the time it is simply typos and not lack of education.
Totally don't understand a separate thread about it.

I don't think that there is anyone on here who is a PERFECT writer, and that those who yell at people for making mistakes, make them themselves.
