Palace Theatre side orchestra?

How are the side orchestra seats at the Palace? I am looking at Sunset tickets and thought these might offer good value for this show, especially as Sunset will be a concert staging and I assume most of the action will take place center stage. Can anyone recommend or should I stick to center orchestra?

I have only sat in the extreme sides once, for Shirley MacLaine's show 30ish years ago. I thought the seats were fine for that type of a show, but would warn you not to buy seats too close to the stage...half-way back is good. I would expect that those seats would be very good for SB in a scaled down staging.

I've sat on the raised sides of the orchestra and absolutely loved them. Try to get next to the railing if possible. I hate the Palace in general and those side raised areas feel so roomy and lift you above those treacherous long aisles in the orchestra.

Does anyone know how the front row dead center is? If Im shelling out $299 I want to be as close as possible. How high is the stage.

Thanks jarethan and bettyboy for your responses. Betty, I've never sat there but I've already been warned that the Palace has a high stage.

Carnzee, I may opt for the raised sides of the orchestra then, Plus they are a steal at $135.

I agree that the raised side orchestra section is good. I sat there for An American in Paris in row O on the aisle. The view was great. Row N is the front row of that section and nobody would be in front of you at all. I'm not sure how the legroom is in row N however.
