Paper Ads for Broadway Shows

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how you can subscribe for services to receive paper ads and flyers in the mail for Broadway shows? I don't think you have to exclusively live in New York because my family and I live outside of New York state and my father received a paper ad for a Broadway show (Present Laughter) a few months back when it first opened. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. For example, do you have to be on a certain email list or something like that? Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks!

How one ends up receiving such mailings is a curious thing. I don't live anywhere near New York, and up until about 6-8 months ago, I'd never received any postal mail advertisements for Broadway shows in my life. I occasionally received information regarding local/touring productions in my area, but nothing about New York. Then suddenly last fall I received a series of thick-stock, full-color, tri-fold advertisements for Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, War Paint, and a few others (maybe Bandstand and Sweat?), all within a 2-3 week period.

Interestingly, I ended up buying tickets for Sunset, Saigon, and War Paint after receiving the mailings (but not as a result of the mailings, as I was already planning to see those shows), but I've not received any more ads since then.

I would buy from the source like Telecharge for instance and you should be put on a list. I buy tickets for ABT and I get mailing for both the ballet and opera at Lincoln Center several times a year despite being in FL and only getting to go once a year to the city.
