I was reading an article about the new Obie Award committee and this is what I read:


"Eisa Davis won an Obie Award last year for her share in the ensemble performance of 'Passing Strange,' which she will reprise in the forthcoming Spike Lee film version."

Are they talking about the recent filming of the Live stage-version that Spike Lee did, or is there another film (version) coming out in which he is directing?

What is even funnier was I was thinking about this on the way home as well!

it just got into sundance, so i guess hopefully it'll find distribution there

yes...i bumped into Mr. Lee at another play 2 wks. ago, and he said it would be introduced at the Sundance Film Fest. Yay!

And yes, I worked at the Belasco during the 3 days of outrageously fantabulous taping, It was bedlam in the best sense! My most exciting single night in the theatre. Ask Greg j63, Mikem, Kithi, Frogs-Fan85, Lucy, jade, etc..... Hopefully, the full force of energy and rock and rock will transport the new filmgoers to scream, jump, R&R like we did that last night! I cant wait for this!!! btw, I wanted to buy my daughter the book and lyrics for a Christmas present but it still isn't out. GRRR!

I think the book and lyrics will be published in January. In the mean time I have seem bound copies of the script on e-bay. I have one myself.
