Hoping some of you can help. I've found Patti singing a song called My Son on her album Matters of the heart. However, Google isn't throwing up any information on song writer etc. 

 

I'd love some more information if anyone has any. Thanks

It’s a Rupert Holmes song from the yet-to-be-realized musical version of The Picture of Dorian Gray.

I have no idea how the song fits into the narrative of Dorian Gray.

Thank you very much, I love the song. 

Chapter 3 of the book features Margaret Devareux Dorian's Mother so perhaps the reveal of his past is done in a flashback?

Thanks! I've always wanted to see Dorian Gray done as a musical, hope this happens.

Lott666, there was a musical done years ago. I was lucky enough to see it 3 times in Denver at the Buell Theater in 2002. It never made it to NY, I don't think. I really enjoyed it. Got to know the producers while it was there and they invited me to see it mid run and end run to give my opinions. Max Von Essen and Nikki Renee Daniels were in it. Their website is still up and you can listen to music from it.

A coorection to my post. In Denver Matt Cavenaugh was Dorian and Robert Cuccioli was in it. On the site it lists Von Essen. I think he did it in LA.
