Bob8Rich I so agree. Patti Lupone in Gypsy was a tour de force, her Norma Desmond wa sthe best of them all and she was fantastic in Les Mis. I don't get this Patti hate thing either. The sooner she's back on the West End stage the better....

Wow, I didn't know the Swansea connection to LuPone, interesting!

TBH I'm still not sure whether it was Gypsy that underwhelmed me or LuPone, so maybe I'd give her another go if the chance came up, who knows I may be converterd!

(Oh, and her Gypsy was to DIE for...each of the six times I saw it...as was her Ms. Lovette, Evita, Reno Sweeney...etc. etc. etc.)

Lupone is great when she tones it down. She was wonderful in Sunset Blvd. These days the over-acting seems to be getting heavier and heavier ... I used to like her.

PS. Sunset was 17 years ago ... it's time she got over the fact she got fired.

The wonderful Laura Benanti has now been added to the "Breakdown" cast. This show keeps looking better and better!

It's a British based company. Already offering tickets for Women on the verge. Is is a reliable company ?

I hated her performance in Gypsy. All I saw on stage was Patti being Patti. If they do decided to bring Gypsy, I hope they cast Elaine Paige or someone else as Rose.

As long as it's up and running by November 20 - that's when I've booked to see it! Apart from The Scottsboro Boys, "Verge" is the show I'm most looking forward to in the rest of 2010.
