I have loved her since I was child and got the EVITA CDs. Then LIFE GOES ON on TV.
When I got the chance to see her in GYPSY June 17th, the first performance after her Tony win, I stagedoored of course. Being the ever vigilent and resourceful woman I am, I positioned myself right at the front of the barricade on the left side right by the door. When she came out, I was one of the first people she got to. She smiled right at me, bent her head and began to sign my PLAYBILL. To my surprize, she asked me, "Did you like it?" I replied, "No" in a very deadpan voice. She looked up at me and our eyes met. She had a perplexed look on her face. "I loved it. It was one of the best night of my life," I added softly, smiling and nodding. She began to chuckle and grin, obviously pleased at my attempt at humor. She winked at me and proceeded to slide my PLAYBILL back to sign the cover of the glossy picture program for me, too... I didn't ask and I sure wasn't expecting that. I was simply using it as a "table" for her and the PLAYBILL... Wonderful moment
