Hi all,
Seeing Patti tonight on the campus of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. I’ve never seen her live, so I’m excited, needless to say. The show is “Don’t Monkey with Broadway,” so I assume it will be similar to her recent live album of the same name, which is thrilling because it’s truly a Patti LuPone Greatest Hits show! Anyone else happen to be going?
No, but just wanted to say that’s my alma mater! DeBartalo (or D-Bart as we called it) is a great venue! Enjoy!

Xmaschild, If you type Patti Lupone setlist, it states what songs she performed in a Chicago concert last month. (To give you an idea)
Just got home from the show! What a gorgeous evening of beautiful songs sung by one of our greatest voices. It’s always such a gift to hear such talent live, especially a voice I admire so much.
The setlist was exactly the same as the Don’t Monkey with Broadway live album, including much of the same banter. She takes an intermission after “Argentina” and did a wardrobe change. Highlights for me included “ Some People,” “Argentina,” her three-song Sondheim medley, and her encore of “Ladies Who Lunch.” The seocnd half of the first act and the second act were more enjoyable for me just because I was more familiar with the songs.
She is in FANTASTIC voice. She included a group of Notre Dame students on several of the second act songs and did “Sleepy Man” and “Some Other Time” with them without a microphone, and it was phenomenal. Such a treat.
I would have enjoyed it more I think if I hadn’t listened to the new album beforehand, since it was basically the same show, but what a treat to see and hear her sing live so many songs that have characterized her career.
For those interested, she had a merchandise table with signed and unsigned copies of her memoir and signed and unsigned CDs of (I think) all of her solo albums and the War Paint cast recording. There was a $5 price difference in signed and unsigned books, and I didn’t price the CDs.
All in all a wonderful night with a treasure of the American stage!

Sounds terrific! And a big Happy Birthday to Miss Patti!
I am going to the show tonight in Schenectady. Looking forward to it. Sitting in the less expensive seats but sure it will be fine - more of a listening experience anyway.
Seeing her Sunday evening in Rochester at Eastman - very excited!! I'll have to pick up a signed copy of her memoir.

True. You could probably stand outside Proctors and hear Patti loud and clear.
The show was terrific! If you have a chance to see her if she comes to a city near you - you really should.

She was absolutely marvelous last night in Schenectady. She forgot the words twice to two different songs and was so humble and funny about it that you couldn't help but love her even more. We were in the 3rd row pit and were just mesmerized by every expression and all of the acting she did. The last 2 songs during the encore were acappella and you just didn't want her to stop singing. My 12 year old loved her and got a wonderful experience from a master. Here's the review:

I heard that at some of her recent concerts she has been singing "Omar Sharif" from the Band's Visit. Has anyone heard her do it?
I was there too at Proctors and was in awe as usual. Her voice seems to be getting BETTER with age, and anyone who complains about her diction needs to watch her perform “If”, which happened to be my 6 year old’s favorite last night. ; )
Funny that the review names “Losing My Mind” as one of the highlights... she didn’t sing it last night!
Loved the accapella songs at the end — she truly had us in the palm of her hand.
Saw the show last evening at the Eastman in Rochester — all I can say is that she must have found the fountain of youth! After hip surgery in the fall, and at 69 years old - she looked and sounded absolutely terrific! I was blown away by her last night, and I’ve seen her in concert before. She brought the house down several times last night. I LOVED that she sang two of her encores with NO amplification - it’s hard to make the Eastman seem like an intimate spot, but she did just that and did it brilliantly. I am so glad we went!
There is an another concert coming up on May 6th at State Theatre New Jersey. Is someone going? There are still tickets available.
