re: Patti LuPone: Born for the Stage

Mama, A LOT of people on this board LOVE Patti ! You have every right to hate her and all opinions are respected, but really, do you have to post on EVERY thread about her, emphasizing it??? It gets really tiring !

re: Patti LuPone: Born for the Stage

I'm allowed my comments as you are yours.
I'm not breaking any rules!

Of course you're entitled, MamasDoin'--just as other members are entitled to find your repetitious negative comments tedious.

re: Patti LuPone: Born for the Stage

But, really, Mama, ask yourself: What does it say about you that you even have the desire to search for places to be unpleasant?

Are you that bitter and nasty in other places of your life?

Or are you an otherwise pleasant and productive member of society, with an otherwise happy and fulfilling life, who simply enjoys looking for threads on the Internet about Patti LuPone and saying the same repetitive nasty things in those threads?

Either way, what do you get out of it? Do you feel a sense of glee each time you do it? Do you gloat? Is it a feeling of revenge? A quasi-sexual thrill?

What else could you be doing during the time you are posting these endlessly repetitive negative posts?

Or is your life REALLY that empty?

re: Patti LuPone: Born for the Stage

since I think PalJoey said it all, I would like to comment that although I've seen this video before, it never gets old. I love being able to see those clips of her from The Acting Company and it's always so lovely to hear her speak about her craft and career. ljay said it on another thread, but I have to say that I'd be hard pressed to find someone more passionate about live theater and preserving its integrity.

Your abusive PM is being reported- see how low you guys can go! Abusive PMs how childish.
Im entitled to my comments as much as you are. Its an open board and thats it. I have to see thousands of you lot going on and and about how much you love her so why cant I, and others, have their say too on here?

re: Patti LuPone: Born for the Stage

What makes you think i would want to PM YOU?
I mean how childish is that of you to PM with abuse and then i reply so you can block me! I love it!

re: Patti LuPone: Born for the Stage

Mama, you are entitled and no one is judging you for your opinion ! What we are saying is, why do you have to come to posts that are clearly LOVE threads and spread hate and negativity ? Do you really think it's an achievement to be the party pooper ??? There are many general posts about Patti and Gypsy that you can fire away all you want. But what do you get out of poisoning other people's LOVE threads ??? Why don't you find posts about things and people you LOVE and spread some positivity and make some friends, for a change ! We get it, you hate her, why don't you MOVE ON ???

re: Patti LuPone: Born for the Stage

Its an open board, why am I not allowed to post what I like on any thread. Its nothing personal to you so why are you taking it so personal? Who are you to say MOVE ON?
As for love threads that is ridiculous- there are 1000s of threads on here for shows that get invaded by others - take the Wicked and Rent threads- so much abuse on there. Just remember Im not doing it to any one personally so don't come back personally on me.
Its' NOT personal -relax, and if you don't like or disagree with my thoughts IGNORE them, there are plenty of threads and posts on here i just skim over. You do the same.

re: Patti LuPone: Born for the Stage

Of course you're "allowed" to post whatever you like, MDF. But you should ask yourself the same (presumably rhetorical) questions you're asking us:

"Why shouldn't those who like LuPone respond to my threads? If I don't like their responses, why don't I just skim over them?"

At any rate, it's not your opinion of LuPone that people are taking issue with; its your apparent need to post it in every single thread--often more than once.

It just seems . . . odd. It certainly draws attention to itself. And it makes one wonder what response you anticipate when you do it.

re: Patti LuPone: Born for the Stage

Mama, how can you call anyone's actions childish when you posts on this thread sound like those of a tantrum throwing 5 year old with maturity development issues?

Love me some Patti! Northport's own! We went to the same High School! Nice to see that High School picture of her back when!

"I'm not looking for any kind of response what so ever. Simple."

I think you're being disingenuous.

Reggie, someone as dapper as you ought not trifle with peons like Mama.

Hate to pull out the old armchair psychology, but when you completely ignore something, it goes away. Any attention, positive or negative (punishing), is reinforcing, and will result in behavior being repeated.

And when the quality of the critique is as lofty as, "Here we go!" -- all that activity trying to quash those kinda comments is wasted energy, I'm afraid. I could be wrong, tho.

PJ, you're in the West End? Wow

Wikipedia definition of TROLL:

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

Mama is a troll...such an bitter, angry and ugly troll!

I know we shouldn't feed it, but it's awfully fun to poke it with a stick and watch it wail like a banshee.

Let's poke it some more!
