I saw it yesterday and found it quite good. I thought both were in fine voice. Patti hasn't looked so good in years. (Thank God what someone referred to as the "Page Boy" haircut is gone!)

The R&H segments were a little weird, particularly the CAROUSEL one, but I thought Mandy's "Some Enchanted Evening" was lovely. They sang the hell out of "Everything's Coming Up Roses" and "Buddy's Blues" respectively. I thought the Finale to Act I ("April in Fairbanks, Alaska") was charming.

But it was the EVITA segment that brought tears to my eyes-- not just the lovely story Mandy told (Patti also stopped her song to say that despite whatever difficulties the show brought her, she wishes she could go back to that time), but the songs. It was like the years melted away and we were back in 1979, albeit, without sets and costumes.

I found it to be quite wonderful. And it was too bad to see most of the Mezzanine empty yesterday. But the audience ate it up.
