Performance rights to THE FROGS (pool version)
Performance rights to THE FROGS (pool version)#0

I'm wondering if anyone has any idea whether the rights to the Juilliard School production of THE FROGS are available (where they're actually in a pool), and if so, who owns those rights. I go to University of Washington, and for some reason there is a pool attached to the drama building, and I'd love to do that show before I graduate. From what I know, the pool version hasn't been performed since the Juilliard production. And I haven't heard yet whether or not the Lincoln Center version will be availbale for performance.

It was Yale... not Julliard... the yale fight song is the inspiration for the whole brek kek kek kek thing... and by all acounts performing in a pool made everything inaudible... why would you do that to yourself..?

No, Brek kek kek kek is in the original Areostophanies(sp?) text. I remember because when I was reading the original play I remember thinking 'Hey thats cool they actually put this in the musical"

The Yale cheer is taken from the ancient Greek.
Cole Porter, in OUT OF THIS WORLD, based on the Amphitrion legend had Jupiter sing this lyric:
I, JUPITER - I, REX
I, JUPITER REX, AM POSITIVELY TEEMING WITH SEX!
To which the chorus responded:
BREK KEK A WEK A WEK - SEX!
BREK KEK A WEK A WEK - SEX!

Has anyone else performed the show besides the Yale performance or outside of the Broadway production?
