I'm not so sure what you mean about animosity towards her...unless you know things we don't. Obviously she has some people that like her or she wouldn't even make it to the final rounds of the auditions in the first place. Right? There are a lot of reasons one person is cast and another isn't. Who's to say why some people like one person while another one doesn't. Everyone has their own opinions. I certainly have my own opinions that is for sure.
I don't know if this is news or not, but there was an article in the paper today that stated that Larry Wayne Morbitt would be heading to LV. I would guess that he'll be playing Piangi, but the article didn't specifically say. It also said that he was the only actor from the Broadway cast chosen for the show.

All I know is they better turn this into something that hasn't already been seen before in the Broadway and various touring productions. Everyone and their dog who's wanted to see this show has SEEN IT already... across the country. So, they better be doing Phantom with a water ballet, or on ice, or in the nude... or something exciting and never-before-seen. Just beefing up the cast to 50 isn't going to do the trick. Not next to all those Dragone shows in the other hotels. And people are even getting tired of those... the latest one at the Wynn is tanking.

The part of the Phantom is being double cast but I have heard on good authority that one of them is Brent Barrett (which I'm very excited about--I would see him anywhere).

From what I've read, this is practically an entirely new production. Nothing from the current productions will be replicated, with bigger and more lavish sets (not that it's difficult, POTO hardly has a set as it is).

It will also be done in one act and last about 90 minutes (of which I'm in total favor).
