Well since my mamma always told me to go before I leave the house, I should be okay. And I usually save my wine drinking for after a show. Think I'll be safe 'cause those don't sound like good odds and don't want to run to the Barrymore.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

Maybe you prefer to see a show that is trashed by others because you like to make your own decisions

That and also the advice of some very wise people I know, right Linda?! re: Photo Coverage: Dracula, The Musical Opening Night -

I have hated two shows this season:
Prymate
Dracula
That makes me a Black Widow so be it.
I usually find very positive things to say about a show.
I thought the sets, costumes and stars were wonderful.
But the book and score were horrible.
I am honest. I also waited until it opened to voice my opinion.
So call me A BLACK WIDOW. A CAGED COBRA.
I think it's amusing. Updated On: 8/22/04 at 01:45 AM

Just so nobody gets their knickers twisted let me just point out that I'm not calling Corine2 a name. She has in fact branded herself the Broadway Black Widow. Allow me to post this for those with short term memory:

Etoile-
Namo gave me the nickname "The Broadway Black Widow " when I discussed Prymate. It was a joke. I used it as a joke.
I AM HARDLY A BLACK WIDOW. I am more like a smurf.
But I thought it was funny so I went along.
Humor is everything.
I am warm and a passionate theater goer. Hardly a Black Widow.
That is why I embraced Namo's nickname.
It was funny.

I don't know Corine... you said that the sets and the cast were fantastic and that the flying is cool... yet you "hated" the show. I know you had a problem with the book and music, and I can understand your not LOVING the show and feeling that it fell below your overall expectations, but... "hated" it??? Hate is such a strong word. One that I feel should be reserved for something that has absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Maybe you just didn't like because you had to pee so badly. LOL :)

Regarding Cindy Adams, it's interesting to see how she used a mix of plaids, pastels and doily. I'm not gonna lie, I'm impressed.

About the show, yeah, the lyrics and book were weak. I wrote better lyrics in my tribute to Olive Garden musical, which included hits such as "Oh Waiter! Where's the Cheese Grater?" and "With a 45 Minute Wait, There Best Be Free Breadsticks On My Plate." But the cast IS good...and they put up with the crap they have to work with. Heaven forbid if I were in the cast, I'd probably be mocking the material while saying my lines, and these actors definitely do their best to say it straight. I did enjoy the show, however, and the voices in the cast were great. One of the Ensemble gals liked to make big, "high school" faces...i.e. she over acted. That made me laugh. So did the part where all the gals dressed as sailors and pranced around. I would NEVER be able to do that in a straight face. But I did enjoy it and will possibly go back and see it again sometime in the winter (if it lasts).

I hated the book. I hate the lyrics. I hated that Errico had no passion for Tom.
My GOD. Look at TOM. He is one of the hottest men on Broadway.
But there was no chemistry. NO PASSION. No chemistry of any kind.
The best chemistry was laughing about it on a bathroom line.
Very sad.
And yes. I was mad I could not pee. But the second act was stronger then the first.
Hate is a strong word. I did not hate Dracula. I found it painful to watch.
It is a shame to have such talent and such a bad show.

Did he pull a Jim Steinman?
