Wait, so she was a replacement for Chava in Fiddler, and they call her a "Broadway star?"

Okay.

Maybe I'm way too sheltered, but I rarely hear of women being arrested for domestic violence. Especially women married to police officers.

Most men, especially police officers, would feel way too ashamed to report that their wife is physically abusive. It's the same reason male rape victims rarely report their rape.

Well, the term "star" seems to have lost a lot of luster. I think that credit alone would disqualify her from being a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars" -- way over qualified to be a star for their definition.

With all due respect, Pia Zadora has numerous Broadway credits not just FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.

She made her Broadway debut in 1961 at the age of 7 in the play MIDGIE PURVIS.

Was a replacement Bielke in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (she was about 11-12 years old).

Played a Norton School Student and understudied the role of Marian Gilbert in the original 1967 Broadway cast of HENRY, SWEET HENRY (she was 13 years old)

And replaced Michele Pawk in the role of Irene Roth in CRAZY FOR YOU around 1995.

I never expected to see the words Pia Zadora and Tallulah Bankhead in the same sentence, but wonders never cease on Broadway.

From this description (see link) Midgie Purvis seems like a very odd play:

"A childish 50-year-old woman leaves her dismissive family, disguises herself as an 80-year-old woman, and becomes a babysitter."
