cutting this number from the Broadway production was an EPIC mistake
I love the moment in the complete cast recording when all the men in the bar (a multitracked Frank Wildhorn?) shout out “no!” in unison instead of a more organic response.
I’ll always wonder how Jekyll & Hyde would have faired on Broadway had the 1995 tour version landed on the boards instead of the one we got. Granted, the Broadway production still managed a decent run and outlasted the other new musicals from that season but could it have run even longer or would it have bombed?

Oh no. As bad as the show was, at least Good and Evil made sense in context.
Great song for cabarets, etc.

Does it though? It makes sense to the audience because we know we’re watching a show called Jekyll & Hyde but why would Lucy be singing a song like that as a showcase in a pub over one that would likely be more appealing to her clientele?
I remember reading a comment that Linda Eder made about J & H. Linda commented that she wished she had made a diva stand and convince the producers to keep "Bring On The Men" for the Broadway production.
I was just thinking that Linda Eder would have been wonderful in "Victor, Victoria". Thoughts?
