I am so confused. Why is this happening? It was a tiny production that if I remember correctly got sorta mixed reviews.

What does being white have to do with anything?

The story is about a cis mother with a trans child, so it makes sense that a cis woman would play the role.

I really loved this play.

And hasn't Ripley been involved with this for quite some time?

All I will say is this--there is one person who has consistently been with this project for quite some time that isn't Alice (doesn't take a lot of research to figure out who this is), and I have a feeling they have a solid amount of income, as it seems they've been producing all throughout COVID. With enough money, anything is possible. Plus, I'm sure Alice Ripley is not getting offers left and right these days, as talented as she is.
