Does anyone know anything about the cast for the tour?

I think it would be so amazing if Kyle Dean Massey & Ciara Renee toured.
I would die (of happiness) if Renee toured. Kyle I would be excited but I could take him or leave him.
I believe current Pippin u/s & swing Billy Tighe is slated to do the tour as Pippin.
Ciara Renee is linked to Hunchback at La Jolla and Paper Mill at the current time.

Billy Tighe would be great. Saw him as Jean-Michel in the La Cage tour a few years back.
I won't be surprised based on the tour promotions if Billy and Gabrielle lead the tour as they are the understudies on broadway now!
also how do we know that Ciara is with Hunchback?

I don't think Ciara is attached to Hunchback anymore. She did the reading last year but I don't think her contract at pippin would allow it.
I am soo torn if I should see the show when I am in NYC in June. I have already seen it may times with the OBC as well as when Tovah and Annie joined the show. the last time I saw it was right before Patina and Matthew left and it was incredible- I don't want to ruin my memory of that, but I am curious to see what the newbies are doing with the roles.
I caught Billy's Pippin and LOVED him- I would love him or Erik to do the tour.
You should totally see it again Ciara and Kyle are fabulous!!!! and the rest of the cast are always a delight!

I have seen the OBC MANY times. Was there opening night, Tony Day, the full cast together for the last time, Andrea's last show, Matt and Patina's last show and many others, but I am not a fan of the new cast. He is too old and if you sit where I usually sit you can tell he is old. And She does not bring the edge Patina did. Annie is fine enough. I am waiting for another major cast change (or a night I know Erik is going on) to see it again. The magic has faded.
I do agree Kyle is a little old for the role but i still think Ciara will work herself into the role. My friends saw the show last weekend for the first time and they LOVED Ciara like they couldn't stop talking about how amazing she was! For anybody who didn't see Patina's edge I think would love her as for Kyle I though his acting was pretty close to Matthew's but doesn't really look like a Pippin. I thought Annie did more acrobatics then Tovah and Andrea, I don't know maybe thats just me :) If you still decide to see the show again I think you will still love it!

Ciara is doing Hunchback, it's been worked out since before she started in Pippin.

Well that's awesome!! I'm glad she's amazing.
I just saw it last week and I would say Ciara takes it to a darker place than Patina did.

I will have to revisit Pippin then, I have not seen it since her first week in the show.
I have a free ticket from Belly anyway.

Like others have said, I heard (unless something's changed) that Ciara took the role in PIPPIN with the understanding that she'd be moving on to THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME come the fall. HUNCHBACK... starts previews in La Jolla in late October, so I imagine she'll leave PIPPIN to start rehearsal around the beginning of September.
Ciara likely signed a 6 month contract. The show will have a new LP come late-September.
I would say no because #1 she hasn't mentioned anything on Twitter and Leading Player is a big role to learn with the Fosse and Trapeze, I don't understand why she would do it for 6 months, but we'll see! That being said Ariana Debose is set to join the cast in the ensemble June 30 probably replacing Gabrielle which makes me think she will do the tour!

#1most producers ask their cast to keep hush until a major press release. Especially with a big name show like Hunchback.
Replacing an actor who won the Tony for the part is a big deal. No one will deny that. But being the star of what is on course to be Disney's next broadway show is even bigger, especially with the odds of Ciara Renee being the one to take that role from regional to broadway are very high. The standard contract is 6 months, so her leaving late summer would make sense.
I think we'd be more likely to see someone like Gabby McClinton or Ariana Debose going out on the tour then Ciara.
(Or if Holler doesn't succeed, I'd love to see Christina Sajous as the leading player.)

I did not know that Christina was in Holler! I totally agree that she would be a great LP!
Unless I'm mistaken (and I totally could be) I thought Ciara R said during the Pippin at Google Talks interview that she was currently working on original material in Hunchback during the days, even though her nights were with Pippin. That might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure she strongly insinuated that, despite her ties with Pippin, she was still involved with Hunchback. Also, for the person that asked, it does say in the current Pippin playbill that, at some point, she was playing Esmeralda in the Hunchback workshop.
