If you like to get autographs at the stage door, do you have a preference for any? I guess both have perks.
Signed window cards are great for framing, but they're somewhat challenging to manage and prone to damage in a crowd; Playbills are far more "portable".
When I was a teenager I preferred window cards because I could frame it to my bedroom wall. Now as an adult living in a small apt in NYC, I don't have room for window cards at all so I just get my playbills autographed and frame the playbill. Works for me.
with some stage doors sooooo packed, it's definitely easier to get a playbill signed than a window card.
Playbills are free! Sometimes you can even get multiple copies signed.
If I love a show and the artwork, I get a window card. Sometimes I get it signed, sometimes not. I have definitely had performers give me a nicer or more complete autograph on a window card than on a Playbill - and make mention that they are doing so.
