Looking over the responses, I'm curious about something.
We're supposed to be the rabid theatre fans of the internet... and there's only one Chekov play and one mention of Oedipus Rex, with the rest the usual Williams/ONeill/current whatever straight play is on Broadway right now.
If anything, these responses certainly demonstrate that you guys need to start looking a little further afield. There's a whole world of theatre out there that you apparently dont even know about, and that's pretty sad. Seriously. Plays like Oedipus Rex and The Cherry Orchard and Everyman havent hung around for as long as they have because they have good press agnts -- it's bcause they're damn good theatre. And trust me, they'll be here long after The Pillowman and History Boys are consigned to the dustheap of history.
