Plaza Suite-3rd highest gross of a play-revival

Congratulations on a very successful run! This must make the slight of no Tony love feel pretty good. Not to mention the often unappreciated Broderick who just happens to be in all the top 3 highest grossing revival plays of all time!

3rd highest play REVIVAL, not play overall. Important distinction.

Also, I think it's hilarious that the top 3 highest grossing Play Revivals all had Matthew Broderick in them - but interestingly, none of them marketed off his name alone.

 

Congrats to SJP and Matthew Broderick!  I’ve never been too keen on Neil Simon’s work, but, I thoroughly enjoyed how hard both of these stars worked to give this play some zest (and lots of laugh). They were both great.  Hope to see them team up again.

But si bet he gave you a performance worth the price of admission….he’s no slouch. He got it from his daddy.

The same is true about the production of NIGHT MUST FALL that he did at the Roundabout. I look back on that one and think, "Ewwwwwww....."

I believe he won on Obie for Shining City and I thought he was excellent in that show. Did not see Night Must Fall, so can’t comment on that one. His strength, imo, is physical comedy and he is definitely showcasing that in Plaza Suite.

If my memory serves (not always reliable) Odd Couple and iOAP had longer runs than Plaza Suite, so shouldn’t the comparisons be based the number of performances, not the totals overall? Not sure of the methodology of such statistics but it’s safe to say, Plaza Suite has been a huge success.
