I finally got to see Stephanie in Avenue Q and it was one of the best times of my life. Amazing, hilarious, perfect. Stephanie was so sweet after the show, too.

HAIRSPRAY.
Show your love for Hairspray here!
Ashley,
Steph is the best. Thanks for sharing.
The whole cast are sweeter than white chocolate covered cherries.

I recently fell in love with Sweeney Todd.
Gwen Verdon was amazing, and probally one of the best female dancers ever on Broadway.
I really want Ruthie Henshall to return to Broadway again.
I want to see Ute Lemper live, also hoping she would make a return to theatre.
Paige Davis should really be replacing Applegate in Charity.
Christina Applegate's singing and dancing has improved SO much. She looks like a pro up there now.
I can't wait for Brooke Shield's new project with Sherie Rene Scott to start getting under way. And hopefully she can finally be nominated for a Tony.

Has anyone seen Leah Hocking in Hairspray?

AMEN! Can we petition to have her put in that show? She'd be perfect!

I didn't really like Hairspray all that much - I don't get what all the fuss about it is.
Saw DRS a couple of weeks ago - loved it.
I listen to "Someone to Fall Back On" by JRB at least once a day.
I just got The Likes of Us and lament the fact that Tim Rice and ALW broke up.
Where the hell is my copy of Fields of Ambrosia I won off ebay two weeks ago and still hasn't arrived yet other cds I've won since then have come?
Broadway is too expensive, but I'm still willing to feed my addiction at decent intervals.
Any day spent without musicals in one form or another is an unfulfilled and sad one.
Women who appear in/love musicals are just a little bit hotter than any others...

Now, I like that.
We're having a very focused discussion, aren't we?

Bebe Neurwirth needs to return to Broadway.
I would do anything to have the original revival cast (principles) of CHICAGO return for the show's last performance or even the 10 year anniv. that is coming. That is HIGHLY unlikely though, considering the fall out Bebe had with Fran & Barry.
Michelle DeJean (currently headlining the CHICAGO tour as Roxie) and Mylinda Hull ( currently starring in SWEET CHARITY as Nickie) are two fantastic triple threats, who I predict in the future will be well respected/in demand names on Broadway.

Stephanie J Block: I am!
Jim: Is anyone coming to that old thing?

Jason Robert Brown should do concerts in New York!!! (I know he's not all about that right now, but one can dream...)
Our House is amazing, and I wish it could have a life in America. Witches of Eastwick too.
William Finn is wonderful and underrated... The Public should do revivals of his lesser- known shows.
I can't stop listening to The Rink.
I hope all Shakespeare in the Park shows from now on are as good as Two Gentlemen of Verona.
I'm ridiculously excited for The Wedding Singer.
I don't get the fuss over Smokey Joe's Cafe.
I can't wait for Ring of Fire, and I LOVE RICHARD MALTBY.
I am reading Let the Sun Shine In: The Genius of Hair by Scott Miller, and it's making me see so many things about Hair, the creation of theater, America during the '60s, and life. It's opening my eyes to so many things and I can't recommend the book enough.
The Hair movie is a travesty.
I recently saw The Wiz (the movie) and found it to be one of the only film musicals that measured up to the stage musical for me.
I am seeing Seascape on Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, another random thought...any opinions on whether I should see Lestat in SF keeping in mind that I've not read any Anne Rice and thus wouldn't know too much about it going in? I just moved to the Bay Area and am sort of excited about the idea of seeing a show before it heads to Broadway...

May 25: Tarzan
May 26: Sweeney Todd
May 27: A Color Purple (2 PM) Evening show still open
May 28: Lestat (3 PM) Pajama Game (7: 30 PM)
I am excited!
I suppose that the Saturday evening show will be The Wedding Singer or perhaps Drowsy Chaperone.
Those of you that live there are so lucky to have so much talent so close and available.
