Judy Stakee sat down with Grammy Award winning composer Walter Afanasieff who wrote full time for Mariah Carey (One Sweet Day, Hero, etc.) and Celine Dion (My Heart Will Go On). He revealed that he and Idina Menzel will be writing her next Broadway project:
"...we're also writing a Broadway musical with Idina Menzel for her (hopefully) next big Broadway show"

Ironically, about a year ago I made a thread about him possibly being a Broadway composer to see if anyone thought the same. But I didn't get any repsonses

I'd love to see & hear Idina in a new broadway musical.
YES.
Walter Afanasieff who wrote full time for Mariah Carey (One Sweet Day, Hero, etc.) and Celine Dion (My Heart Will Go On).
He didn't write My Heart Will Go On. That would be Will Jennings and the late James Horner. He did produce it, though.
He wrote that great Celine Dion / Barbra Streisand song "Tell Him," with David Foster and his then-wife, Linda Thompson; and co-wrote with Mariah Carey, her hit "All I Want for Christmas is You." So this project could be exciting!
As much as I'd love for Idina to star in a musical she co-wrote, that's not the impression I got from what he said.
Plus, given the potential TV show she's looking to start and knowing the long road to bringing a musical into fruition, we'll see what happens.
There are other composers I'd more excited about to write Idina's next gig, though. Jeanine Tesori, I'm looking at you.

That is ironic.
"Jeanine Tesori, I'm looking at you."
This, a thousand times over. I wonder who they're collaborating with as far as the book.
On a slightly different note, I'm really curious about this tv show. There continues to be so little information
