I don't think you'll regret it bwayfan7000, but it is expensive...
don't shows sometimes wait for post-opening to offer rush or lotto?

Posted: 1/17/12 at 12:05pmSince the show opened this past week, still no news about a rush/lotto. Maybe they aren't going to do one after all. Unless someone has heard something different?

Posted: 1/17/12 at 1:23pmI was there this past weekend and saw the show (I paid over $100 for it because I couldn't find good cheaper tickets, unfortunately...) and I found out a day later that they're now offering standing room, $27. I don't know how consistently they offer it, but it does exist and I saw someone get it. So at least there's something...

I saw AGermano's post and went to press my luck.
Apparently today was the first day that they've offered rush. I got there at 6:30pm and got a Orchestra Right seat in Row R. I really enjoyed the show! Full cast and well worth the $37. Joan Rivers was there as well. :)

Posted: 1/21/12 at 7:11pmI did read your post, I was hoping to hear from someone who went today or yesterday, especially since wed was the first day they offered rush from what I understand.

Posted: 1/21/12 at 7:28pmI rushed today for the matinee, and got to the box office a few minutes before noon. There were three people in front of my friend and I, and we were given orchestra row O seats, which were absolutely fantastic. (Side note: Norm Lewis was out, and the show was Nathaniel Stampley's first as Porgy. I thought he was incredible!)

Posted: 1/21/12 at 8:11pmlittlebutterfly10, I could tell that Norm was a little under the weather when I saw the show Wednesday. He did a damn good job, but I could hear him singing through the phlegm. Nathaniel Stampley was a stand out in the ensemble for me, his voice was incredible. I'd love to see him as Porgy.

I went to the Thursday night performance and got there at 4 with my boyfriend and we were the only people in line. By the time 5pm came around, there were maybe 10-15 people. We got Row B orchestra left, which was pretty far to the side but you could really see everything. At intermission we moved center row F or so and they were spectacular. Any seat in the center of the theatre is going to be great.
Norm was sounding a little sick on Thursday as well but somehow still managed to sound amazing. Nathaniel Stampley was GREAT in the ensemble and I was so sad he didn't have more to do throughout the show, but I would've died to see him as Porgy.

For the record, we got two rush tickets tonight (a SATURDAY night) at 6:30, only an hour and a half before the show. We were in orchestra row N with a magnificent view. Also, the box office guy said they had plenty of tickets. I wouldn't worry about the rush for this one. It seems pretty easy.
In other news, I loved the show. I thought it was overall excellent with a few small issues here or there. Norm and Audra were spectacular.

Posted: 1/27/12 at 11:32amI did this last night (a Thursday), got there around 4:50. There were 8-12 people in front of me, and I got the last ticket. It was way off to the side of row E, and I would say it was definitely partial view.
